Just had a wonderful conversation with my mother about the fear, vulnerability and safety issues she faces everyday simply because of her gender.


*Then listened to her wonder aloud why my cats are scared of her*

She started the conversation by asking me, “what do you do everyday to insure your safety?

1. Put my glasses on
2. Put my seatbelt on
3. Aware of my surroundings/exits
4...

Blessed to be always surrounded by strong women. They help shape my worldview because I have no comprehension what people who are non-white males go through day in and day out. The mental, emotional and physical struggles are daunting.

Her list. Her list scares me, saddens me.

This is just one of those ideas that got thrown around this week with all the rest. Staying highly productive rather than hopeful is the only way to be…pro-active.

Per the title – a realization that I have been in front of a camera or behind a microphone for twenty years and needed a boost to my memory that you must create every day. Make your own way by adding even the smallest of pieces, using the slightest of effort knowing help is there when you lead with humility.
 
Grateful for the folks in the service department of DODGE who took care of me this AM and all those TIGERS who are going to use their talents this eve to put on a show worthy of Ball Park franks!
