I just dropped my mima off at the hair salon. 92 years old and she acted like a teenager being dropped off at school. Once I got her walker out of the car she wanted nothing to do with me. Claiming her independence in the eyes of the stylists and their clients seemed to be shear madness as she walk-rolled away.
Getting dissed by association seems to be a theme as school starts back up and White House personnel pack up, and Congress laps up vacation and Neo-Nazi/Supremacist/KKK think it’s batters up. By the by master race, ya’ll can pass one of your helmets, buy some land, plant your flag and then get in line for a visa to visit the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Maybe Trump will negotiate a bigly trade deal for your ethno-state. Wait, ethno-state? Like ISIS – ya’ll want to be like ISIS? You’re WhiSIS. I am blessed to be a descendant of the vitamin D deficient peoples. It is a jumpstart in this country. I recognize that and am humbled by that fact. My worldview is skewed but in no way demented to think superiority reigns in this race. White is a combination of all colors of the spectrum. Noted. The vitriol spewed forth by folks; their eyes sparkling tiki-torched, tying their tongues in knots around fearful fact-less favoritism is, pray that it be, fleeting. The cause du jour is to not be associated with certain people at certain times in certain places, that, we can be certain. Certainly. But man am I grateful for all those who do good by association and help where others cannot and reach out to all those in need or want, deserving or not, just because that is in fact what gives value to our lives. It is that which unites us. My grandmother is not white-knuckling her remaining days but if she ever tries to walk-roll away from me again I will do what I did today. I strolled into that salon and yelled out, “I love you!” because I do. And she’s hard of hearing. But she needs to hear it and I need to say it and if there is anything else left to be said it will not, ever, by grace go unsaid. She taught me that. Along with my parents and other grandparents and aunts and uncles. I was carefully taught. Who taught you? What will you teach today? If you love anyone you should give yourself the opportunity to love everyone. Embarrass them with your love. Anything else is disassociative to the fact that our value is dependent upon that of all others.
